National- and regional/district-level election data used by the Senate and Chamber of Deputies election results lookup systems is now available in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format.

The data files (two per general election, one for the Senate and another for the Chamber of Deputies) consist of the following columns, unless otherwise indicated:

  • Region (blank for Italy totals)
  • District - Chamber of Deputies only (blank for Italy and regional totals)
  • Election - Senate or Chamber of Deputies
  • Majoritarian (M) or Proportional Ballot (B) - Chamber of Deputies only; blank since 2018
  • Party or Election Statistic
  • Votes, Voters or Electors
  • Percent
  • College (Single-Member) Seats - Senate only before 2018; both houses since 2018
  • Regional or List Seats - Senate only before 2018; both houses since 2018
  • Total Seats

The election statistics come from official reports and data files issued by the Ministry of the Interior and the Supreme Court of Cassation. Note that between 2005 and 2017, college or single-member seats were eliminated except in Trentino-Alto Adige (for the Senate) and Valle d'Aosta (for both houses of Parliament).
